LIGASANO® white is a foam with a honeycomb structure characterized by a wide range of applications in wound care and prevention. The product should be used by a doctor or trained personnel.
The therapeutic effect is based primarily on three physical principles:
1. Reduces compressive loads:
The product fits to the profile without exercising strong compressive loads, which ensures a unique and reduced compression in the wound and on the body.
2. Mechanical stimulation:
Acts locally on the wound and in contact with the skin by stimulating blood flow, thus ensuring a better flow of oxygen and nutrients to the injured area (activation of the wound), while in case of skin still intact performs preventive action. Particularly in patients confined to bed or wheelchair, normal bodily functions in the specific case are reduced to stimulate the local level.
The mechanical stimulation lasts up to 3 days, after this period Ligasano® has to be changed.
3. Targeted absorption:
The excess liquid is absorbed so that the wound will dry without drying. The wound area is maintained in a warm and humid, with reduction of bacterial flora, cleaning action, without the risk of the dressing from sticking to the wound. Prevention of maceration of the skin, the skin healing properties.
